Andrew ‘Goldsmith’ – Tattoo Artist & Co-Founder of Valentine’s Tattoo

Andrew ‘Goldsmith’ is a traditional tattoo artist known for his bold, timeless style rooted in classic tattooing and influenced by his graffiti background. He began tattooing around 2009 in Coventry, where he lived until the age of 26. Today, he runs his own studio, Valentine’s Tattoo, in Leamington Spa, England.

Goldsmith’s creative journey began long before he picked up a tattoo machine. From trading hand-drawn flash designs for tattoos in local shops to painting graffiti on trains and walls, he immersed himself in underground art scenes from a young age. Once he started tattooing friends and family, his passion quickly turned into a full-time pursuit.

In 2020, alongside his wife Keely Glitters, Goldsmith opened Valentine’s Tattoo—a cozy, jazz-club-inspired studio that reflects their vision of a welcoming, creative space. Since its launch, Valentine’s has become home to top-tier resident artists and a rotating roster of international guest artists.

Goldsmith’s tattoo work is defined by clean lines, vibrant colour, and a bold aesthetic that reflects both his appreciation for traditional tattooing and his graffiti roots. His commitment to quality and originality has earned him a loyal client base and respect in both tattoo and street art communities.

His career has taken him across the globe—from residencies in Coventry, Birmingham, and London to guest spots in cities like New York, Paris, Berlin, Montreal, and Amsterdam. Though he still travels, it’s more often as a tourist these days, embracing exploration without the hustle.

Raised on underground hip hop, skateboarding, and street culture, Goldsmith began writing graffiti in 1998, tagging walls and trains under various aliases. His relentless passion eventually led to legal trouble and even a short stint in prison. But it also pushed him into mural work and commissioned street art, landing large-scale projects and exhibitions.

Today, while his focus is primarily on tattooing, graffiti remains a part of his life—a personal outlet he returns to when he needs to unwind. Through a life lived on his own terms, Goldsmith has carved out a reputation as a respected artist in both the tattoo and graffiti worlds.
